Oh dear, Katy, I had managed to suppress my desire for proper lamingtons with the cupcakes, but you’ve made me want some again.

Josh: yes, but only once.

Mango: gosh, that’s fantastic. I also like the one for baguettes, that Napoleon allegedy wanted bread that his soldiers could carry down their trousers.

Squirmelia: Hoorah! I’m still a bit startled by the idea of people actually using these recipes, so I’m glad they worked out.

(dropping the squares in the chocolate and then tossing them over your shoulder doesn’t actually give you a complete covering, it turns out, and also can get really messy when you miss the bowl of coconut)

These were my attempts at Lammingtons, prompted by me mistakenly asking an office of Aussies what they would like me to bake for them.

Subsequently the entire office went on a sugar rush and spent a weekday afternoon bouncing off the walls.

Magnificent stuff.
