Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm thinking about setting up my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Many thanks

My jury's still out on whether fake cakes are genius or an abomination. If I'm perfectly honest, I don't remember the wedding cake at all from the last four weddings I went to, and many people seem to share that sentiment, at least according to fake cake websites, which may not be an honest source...I'm thinking I'd rather just give everyone chocolate truffles when I get married.

Wedding cake - ugh! I insisted on carrot with lemon frosting for mine. I've never liked fruit cakes and I can't abide marzipan. A friend had banana cake for her wedding earlier this year and it was heavenly. This soup looks outrageously good - love the flame patterns and love the idea of DIY plate decoration for the guests. It certainly takes the pressure off the hostess ;-)

Mm, I certainly wouldn't want one, but then, I don't much like any aspect of the traditional wedding cake - fruit cake isn't one of my favourites, and I dislike marzipan and royal icing. I do think it's a quite fun solution to a problem, though; if people want a cake for show, then they probably shouldn't pay for the edibility as well. It sort-of even adheres to the letter of your rule, if not the spirit, as long as they serve it on a cakeboard instead of a plate, and switch it out for real cake before serving.

The broccoli and cauliflower soups sound great; I'll have to try, come appropriate weather in winter.
